The Bangkok Symphony Orchestra
Foundation in collaboration with The Embassy of Italy bring back
for the second time in Thailand “I Solisti Veneti” ,
the world-renowned Chamber Orchestra from Italy. The concert
is set for Tuesday 12 th July 2005 at the Thailand Cultural Centre,
Main Hall, at 8:00 PM.
“I Solisti Veneti” is
one of the finest Chamber Orchestra of the world. It was founded
in 1959, by Claudio Scimone , the world renowned Italian
conductor, in Padua, near Venice, and had gained high reputation
all over Europe and in Italy for the past 46 years. They had
performed in more than 60 major cities all over the world, and
participating in many fine Music Festivals. The orchestra has
participated in the Salzburg Music Festival in Austria for the
past 30 years, and plays major roles in the “Veneto Festival”.
Many great soloists of the world had performed with “I Solisti
Veneti” namely, Placido Domingo, Uto Ughi, Jean Pierre Rampal,
James Galway, Marylyn Horne and Eugene Kissin.
The Orchestra has more than
300 recordings and they are the finest orchestra performing the
work of Italian master composers. They have been awarded with
the most important prizes in the world as the Grand Prix du Disque
de l'Academie Charles Cros in Paris, the Grand Prix de l'Academie
du Disque Lyrique, the Grammy Award in Los Angeles, the Gold
Medal of the President of the Italian Republic, the Diapason
d'Or, the “Caecilia” award of the Union de la Presse Musicale
Belge and the Premio della Critica Discografica Italiana.
Claudio Scimone is
the founder, Music Director and conductor of “I Solisti Veneti”.
He started his conducting lessons with the well known Franco
Ferrara and Dimitri Mitropolous. He also guest conductor of many
fine Opera of the world, to name a few, the operas at Convent
Garden, Houston Grand Opera, Rossini Opera, and the famous outdoor
arena “Verona”.
