Hikotaro Yazaki, Conductor Born in Tokyo in 1947, Hikotaro Yazaki first studied mathematics at Tokyo’s Sophia University before graduating from the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music as a conductor. For two years from 1970, he was Assistant Conductor of the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra under its Music Director, Seiji Ozawa. In 1972 he led a concert tour to Switzerland as conductor of the Tokyo Youth Symphony Orchestra.
Mr. Yazaki then furthered his studies with some of the great conducting teachers in Europe – Franco Ferrara, Sergiu Celebidache, Zdenek Kosler, Pierre Dervaux and Hans Swarowsky, whose students included Claudio Abbado and Zubin Mehta. He was a prize-winner at the first John Player International Conductors Competition in 1974, at the Besancon Competition in 1975, and at the Rassengna Internazionale “Gino Marinuzzi” in 1996.
Since 1994, Hikotaro Yazaki has been Principal Guest Conductor of the Chamber Orchestra of Toulouse. In 2002 he was appointed Principal Guest Conductor of the Tokyo City Phil
harmonic Orchestra. In January 2005, the Board of Directors of the Bangkok Symphony Orchestra Foundation has unanimously appointed him to the position of Music Director of the Bangkok Symphony Orchestra.

ATSUKO WATANABE , Violin Atsuko WATANABE was born in Hokkaido , Japan . After she graduated at the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music, she came to Europe . In 1973 she won her “Licence de Concerts” with Premier Prix at the Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris under the direction of Rene Benedetti. She studied chamber music with Joseph Calvet at the Academie d’ete de Nice.
She has since furthered her violin studies with following professors: Tibor Varga in Switzerland
Samyon Snitkorsky in West Germany
Lutz-Pecqueux in Paris
Nathan Milstein in Switzerland
From 1973 till 1976, violinist of the Orchestre National de France, and participated many concerts in France as a soloist of Orchestre de Chamber de Rennes, Orchestre Chamber des Jeunes Musiciens de Paris et Orchestre de Chamber “Ars Longa”. |

Hikaru SATO, Cello Born in Tokyo in 1951, Hikaru SATO started studying the cello at the age of five with his father, who had been Pablo CASALS’ first Japanese pupil.
He studied the cello at the Tokyo Arts University with Reine FLACHOT, and subsequently at the Paris National Conservatory where he received a 1 st prize for cello (Andre NAVARRA’s class) and a 1 st prize for chamber music (Jean HUBEAU’s class).He was a prizewinner in the Geneva International Competition.
In 1978 he was appointed assistant principal cellist in the Nice Cote d’Azur Orchestra.
Since 1979 he has been a member of the Orchestre de Paris.He has performed in many solo and chamber music concerts in France, Germany, Italy, Ireland, Belgium, Spain, Argentina and Japan. His concerts have been broadcast by France Musique, Radio Classique and NHK.
Hikaru SATO currently teaches at the Noisy-le-Grand ( Paris suburb) Conservatory.He is a founding member of the Paris String Quartet.
