The Italian Embassy, in collaboration with the Bangkok Symphony Orchestra Foundation and B. Grimm R.O.P . and L’Occitane proudly present the Flute and Piano Recital by the Duo Bellini at the Small Hall , Thailand Cultural Centre, on Saturday, March 25 th 2006 .
The concert will offer a rare opportunity to experience a wide range of Italian music from the eighteenth to the twentieth century, including compositions by Scarlatti, Donizetti, Paisiello and other great Italian composers. The program also presents popular pieces such as Il Carnevale di Venezia, La’ ci darem la mano, Del cor piu’ non mi sento, and a selection of arrangements for solo instruments. Furthermore, Maestro Luciano Bellini will perform some of his interesting compositions besides other contemporary Italian pieces.
The Duo was founded by the renowned composer and conductor Luciano Bellini and his son Luca who promptly joined him after becoming one of Italy ’s most promising flute player. This charming father and son partnership is no strangers to Asia : they have already performed in Thailand , as well as in Singapore , Vietnam and Indonesia .
Their visit in Bangkok is long overdue for those who had the chance of attending their last performances, and surely welcome news for the real lovers of Italian music who will join the ranks of the Duo’s ardent admirers.
