Queen - It's a Kinda Magic ,
is the theatrical
recreation of a Queen concert, which has captured the
imagination of Queen fans everywhere .
Craig Pesco first stepped out on stage as Freddie
Mercury after winning the job over 80 other hopefuls who
came to the audition for the chance to play the charismatic
front man. It turned out to be a role he was born to play.
Since Pesco and guitarist, Colin Hill formed Queen - It's
a Kinda Magic in England in 1997, the group has received
critical acclaim. They were the first Queen tribute band
to play on the same bill as Queen guitarist, Brian May, who
described the band as “brilliant”.
From the first moment that Pesco walks out on stage
you know that you're in for an unforgettable night. Freddie
wasn't simply a singer, he was a presence and Craig Pesco
captures the sexual energy that was Freddie's trademark. Queen-It's
A Kinda Magic travel internationally, including the
countries Canada, Australia, Singapore and the United Kingdom,
performing to packed houses and even die hard fans who have
been following Queen since the 70's have given Pesco the
seal of approval.
A big part of Freddie was his sense of style, Queen-It's
A Kinda Magic covers the full gamut from the gay, German
phase in the late 70's, which saw Freddie appear moustached
with mirrored shades, cap and painted on PVC pants which
gave rise to songs like “ Another One Bites the Dust ” to that very controversial outfit that saw Freddie (and
the rest of the band) dress as characters from famous British
soap opera, Coronation Street, for the “ I Want to Break
Free ” film clip, pink mini skirt and all.
Over the last 18-months
this show has toured, with great success, throughout Australia,
Canada, Asia and New Zealand, playing
to more than 50 000 fans and proving the enormous demand
for a legitimate Queen experience.
Queen - It's A Kinda Magic delivers that experience,
the passion and excitement of Freddie Mercury . The amazing
guitar solos of Brian May and all those unbelievable
harmonies of the whole band . Delivered with modern day sound
and lighting recreating the best of the 70 's /80 's rock
era .
Queen songs are anthems,
the band legendary and Freddie Mercury iconic ! Queen - It's A Kinda Magic transcends
the void of reality and make - believe . The
audience forgets that this is not a real Queen concert, giving
the band two to three standing ovations every night
and waiting in the foyers after the show to meet the cast
and relive their own Queen stories .
For those who were lucky enough to see Queen live, this
is a chance to relive old memories .
For those who weren't, this is a close as you'll come to
the real thing . Either way it is a night not to be missed
.
“Craig Pesco didn't
really have to sing a note of 'Bohemian Rhapsody'. He
understood its magic. And so did everybody in the room.
It was our song now and all Pesco had to do was play
the opening notes on the piano for the celebration to
begin. Arms flew up, out and around those near us. A
friendship was remembered and reborn. And we all began
to sing.” |
