Day 2:
Quick Team- Building Activities for Busy Manager

Day 1:

: Learn how to make ANY goal measurable.
(Without measurable goals, accountability is impossible!)

A manager's job is to get work done through others. The key to their sustained success is holding employees accountable for the results needed. Unfortunately for many, that seems like an overwhelming task that requires too much time, effort, and know-how. In this session, you'll learn a SIMPLE method for holding others accountable for results. Using the acronym SIMPLE, you'll learn (and remember!) the 6 steps of this proven approach so you can easily share it with other managers in your organization tomorrow. You'll find that accountability can be quick and effective, even for busy managers like you!

Objectives
Participants learn to use the six-step SIMPLE process to hold employees accountable for results in their organizations. Participants practice some of the steps, so they leave with competence as well as confidence to apply SIMPLE in their organizations immediately.

What you will Learn?
1. Learn how to make ANY goal measurable. (Without measurable goals, accountability is impossible!)
2. Learn how to get staff members to commit to goals and make them their own.
3. Learn the 4 basic types of feedback and when each is appropriate.
4. Learn how to give feedback that is listened to, understood, and acted upon.
5. Learn how to make suggestions to others that will help them change inappropriate behavior.
6. Learn how to have difficult discussions with staff members who are not performing. Maintain their self-esteem while holding them accountable.
7. Learn not only how, but also when to document difficult discussions.

Day 2:

Excellent people – a winning team – and the results you want!

Most managers want to help their staffs become a strong team. Day-to-day effort is required. Sometimes, though, a quick teambuilding activity can really help the staff learn an important point, or boost morale when nothing else seems to be working. In this session, you'll learn how to plan, conduct and then debrief teambuilding activities successfully.

Teambuilding activities can be fun for teams to learn to work together more effectively. Of course, if all you want is for your team to have some fun and kill some time, play a parlor game and enjoy. But if you want to improve your team's productivity, you need to select an activity that will give your team results. You need to conduct that activity in a way that promotes awareness and growth. And you need to debrief the activity so the team members learn from their own experience—in a much stronger way than if you just told them what to do or how to do it. That way they learn deeper and are much more inclined to apply their learning back on the job. This is the power of teambuilding activities.

Objective
Participants learn the seven-step process for planning, conducting and debriefing effective teambuilding activities for their staff. Participants will practice the steps so they leave with competence as well as confidence in using teambuilding activities with their staff immediately.

What you will Learn?
1. Learn how to choose the right teambuilding activity to meet your team's needs.
2. Learn how to plan and prepare for a successful teambuilding activity.
3. Learn the pitfalls and dangers to avoid when planning and conducting teambuilding activities.
4. Learn how to set up teambuilding activities so that staff members want to engage in the learning.
5. Learn - and experience - over 20 quick teambuilding activities that you can conduct the very next day with your staff.
6. Learn 10 tips for conducting a teambuilding activity that ensure your staff members learn and grow from the experience.
7. Learn what questions to ask after the teambuilding activity that will drive the learning objectives home for each staff member.
8. Learn how you can make the activity continue teaching staff members long after it is over.
