ในช่วงที่ภาพยนตร์ฝรั่งเศส ได้รับกระแสตอบรับดีอย่างที่ไม่เคยมีมาก่อนใน ประเทศไทย โดยดูได้จากจำนวนภาพยนตร์ที่เข้าฉายที่เพิ่มมากขึ้นเรื่อยๆ การ จัดเทศกาลในครั้งนี้ จึงมุ่งที่จะโปรโมตความหลากหลายของภาพยนตร์ฝรั่งเศส ที่ไม่เพียงแต่จะถ่ายทอดสังคมฝรั่งเศสออกมาได้อย่างลึกซึ้งถูกต้อง แต่ยัง สามารถทำให้ผู้ชมเพลิดเพลินไปกับเนื้อหาของเรื่องได้อีกด้วย ในปีนี้ ภาพยนตร์กว่าสิบเรื่องได้รับการคัดเลือกให้มาจัดฉายในเทศกาล โดยจะจัด ฉายเรื่องละสองรอบ ผู้ชมจะได้ลิ้มรสหลากหลายแนวภาพยนตร์ ที่คัดสรรมา เพื่อเอาใจแฟนโดยเฉพาะ ไม่ว่าจะเป็นแนวตลก ผจญภัย สารคดี รักเศร้าเคล้า น้ำตา รักซึ้งกินใจ

Now that French cinema is successfully welcomed by Thais with an increasing number of French films being shown on Thai screens, this year’s objective is to promote the variety and richness of current French cinema for a better understanding and deeper view of French society. Eleven recent films never before seen in Thailand , having premiered between 2004 and 2006 , will each be screened at the festival twice. All sorts of films will be presented - comedies, thrillers, adventure, drama and documentaries - so that the Bangkok audience gets the largest overview possible concerning the highlights of contemporary French cinema.

At the same time, a French Short Film Festival will be programmed from July 7 th to July 15 th at the Bangkok Code and auditorium of the Alliance Française of Bangkok. The program will essentially present Thai films and French-speaking films. 9 films, never before seen in Thailand , have already been programmed.
