ระยะเวลา 2-3 ปีที่ผ่านมานี้ วงการจิตรกรรมได้สร้างสรรค์ผลงานที่มีรูปแบบ หลากหลายมากขึ้น ศิลปินทั้งหลาย ต่างพยายามที่จะปลดปล่อยตัวเองออก จากกรอบแบบดั้งเดิม เพื่อแสดงผลงานจิตรกรรม ลงบนพื้นวัสดุอื่นๆได้อย่าง เป็นอิสระตามที่พวกเขาต้องการ Yvan FAYARD ต้องการถ่ายทอดงาน จิตรกรรมของเขาลงในพื้นที่ใหม่ๆ ที่ไม่ได้จำกัดอยู่จำกัดอยู่เพียง บนพื้นดิน หน้าต่าง กำแพง หรือ เพดาน แต่เพียงอย่างเดียวเท่านั้น ( WA ) ไม่ใช่เป็นเพียง การแสดงจิตรกรรมร่วมสมัยบนพื้นผนังเท่านั้น แต่ยังมีอะไรที่น่าสนใจกว่านั้น

โดดเด่นของการใช้พื้นที่ชั่วคราวในการแสดงงานศิลป์ ( WA-Surface d’autonomie temporaire) จากงานนิทรรศการศิลปะโดยสมาคมศิลปะฝรั่งเศส
( Association Française d’action Artistique ) ที่จากาต้ามาใช้ในการจัด แสดงจิตรกรรมบนพื้นผนังสาธารณะในกรุงเทพฯ โดย Yvan FAYARD จิตกร เอกที่มีชื่อเสียงในฝรั่งเศสจะมาถ่ายทอด

งานของเขาประมาณ 6-7 ชิ้นลงบนผนังสาธารณะในพื้นที่ต่างๆทั่วกรุงเทพฯใน ขณะเดียวกัน ทาง ( La Fête ) ก็จะเชิญนักศึกษาคณะศิลปกรรมจาก มหาวิทยาลัยศิลปากรให้มาช่วยกันค้นพบ YvanFAYARD และเทคนิคใหม่ๆใน การถ่ายทอดงานจิตรกรรม ของเขาตลอดจนได้มีโอกาสสร้างงานจิตรกรรมร่วม กับเขา

อนึ่ง สถานที่แสดงงานจะเป็นที่สาธารณะและจะเปลี่ยนสถานที่ไปเรื่อยๆ ไม่ว่า จะเป็นในบาร์ สตูดิโอร้านค้าบูติก กำแพงบนถนน (เช่นที่ถนนสาทร พระราม 4) ดังนั้น พื้นผิวของวัสดุที่จะรองรับงานจึงมีความหลากหลายนับตั้งแต่ พื้น ผิวกระจกตู้โชว์หน้าบูติก พื้นผนังห้อง จนถึงผืนผ้าใบธรรมดาสำหรับงาน จิตรกรรม

In recent years, the art of painting and drawing has evolved and diversified. Escaping traditional borders, some artists have chosen to rid themselves of conventional means of expression in favour of more expansive methods.

By directly focusing on floors, windows, walls or ceilings, Yvan Fayard (picture left above) is part of this generation of new artists. His works aims at finding other ways of using space. ‘WA’ is a contemporary Wall-painting exhibition, and more…

Yvan Fayard suggests a creation whose realization can be delegated to other artists, in this case art students on a wind-exposed playground. This leads to the creation of partitions.

It is inspired by the concept of the ‘WA-Temporary Autonomic Surface’ exhibition launched by the AFAA (Association Française d’Action Artistique) in Jakarta , which presented the works of nine artists (among them 4 French artists including Yvan Fayard).

‘La Fête’ festival will produce the same kind of artistic intervention in public spaces around Bangkok . Yvan Fayard, a very well recognised and liked artist in France , will create a trail of 6 or 7 paintings throughout the city of Bangkok . A partnership with Silpakorn University is also to be planned so that students of the Faculty of Arts can meet and discover Yvan Fayard and his innovative means of expression. In this sense, they could also actively contribute to the artistic preparation of his work.
