| The Nutcracker,a two-act ballet based on E.T.A. Hoffmann’s Der Nussknackert und der Mausekoing is the third and last of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s great ballets. A charming story, it is one of the most popular ballets ever. In the ballet, the central character, a little girl is given a nutcracker by her godfather for Christmas. She falls asleep and dreams that she defends it against the King of Mice. The nutcracker then changes into a handsome prince who takes her on a fabulous journey. |
