Quest Entertainment presents the Holiday on Ice Asian Tour 2005, a spectacular show combining the most famous scenes from a century of classic Hollywood movies and the most breathtaking ice skating routines performed by world famous ice skaters. Holiday on Ice
is the undisputed worldwide market leader in ice entertainment and the world's largest touring live-entertainment production: visiting more than 70 cities in 25 countries each year. Over the past few years, Holiday on Ice, as part of Joop van den Ende's Stage Holding Company, has created a new generation of ice shows. These shows contain elements of the theatre, dance, opera, musicals and acrobatics, which are combined in innovative new ways. From its head office in the Netherlands and supported by an international network of promoters, creative producers and offices in London and Hamburg , Holiday on Ice maintains a close watch on market developments.
At present, around 300 people are employed by Holiday on Ice. Each show tours for three or four years, mainly in Europe and South America , bringing millions of fans a unique combination of fantasy and entertainment.

World-class skaters
Becoming part of a Holiday on Ice production is a much-loved part of many skaters' careers. The inclusion of world-class skaters and Olympic medallists is a regular feature of Holiday on Ice productions. Over the years, these have included such well-known names as Katarina Witt, Surya Bonaly, Nobert Schramm, Robin Cousins, Philippe Candeloro and Sjoukje Dijkstra.

Stage Holding Entertainment Group
In 1999, Holiday on Ice became part of Joop van den Ende's Stage Holding Entertainment Group, Europe 's leading live-entertainment production company. Based in the Netherlands . Stage Holding is involved in the production of musicals, plays and concerts, as well as theatre management, ticketing and special events.. Altogether, about 4,500 people work in Stage Holding's productions, offices, theatres and call centres in the Netherlands, Germany, Spain, Britain, the United States, Russia and Italy. Stage Holding has partnered with such major players as Disney Theatrical Productions (The Lion King, Aida, Beauty and the Beast), Littlestar (Mamma Mia!), Andrew Lloyd Webber/The Really Useful Group (Cats, Phantom of the Opera, Jesus Christ Superstar) and
Vereinigte Buühne Wien
(Roman Polanski's Tanz der Vampire, Elisabeth). It also develops and produces its own musicals, such as 3 Musketeers, Wind of Change, Urinetown, Musicals in Ahoy, and Best of Musical! along with large-scale dance events in cooperation with ID&T. |
First show
25 December 1943 - First ever performance in Toledo , Ohio . Holiday on Ice was created by Carl Snyder and Donn Arden, who chose the name Holiday on Ice due to the first show being staged during the Christmas holidays. |
Touring show
1945 - The Gilbert brothers become involved in Holiday on Ice, having sold their successful food chain and invested the proceeds into Holiday on Ice's third tour. Together with Morris Chalfen, they use the first portable ice rink to make Holiday on Ice a touring show. |
Holiday on Ice conquers the world
1947 - Holiday on Ice becomes the first American show to travel abroad, playing to a packed audience in Mexico City .
1949 - Holiday on Ice travels to South America
for the first time.
1950 - First ever performance of Holiday on Ice in Europe .
1953 - First ever performance of Holiday on Ice in Japan . |
Cold War visit
1959 - In the midst of the Cold War, Holiday on Ice travels to Moscow , becoming the first American attraction to visit the Soviet Union since the two super powers agreed to a cultural exchange programme. Among the spectators is party leader Nikita Khrushchev.
1960 - First ever performance of Holiday on Ice in Africa . |
Madison Square Gardens
1965 - First performance of Holiday on Ice in New York 's Madison Square Gardens . Also the year of its first ever performance in the Middle East . |

50th anniversary and another world record
1994 - Over a thousand Holiday on Ice skaters, past and present, celebrate the show's 50th birthday by forming the longest kick line in the world; an achievement which merited another entry in the Guinness World Records Book. |
Change of ownership
1996 - Endemol Entertainment, the largest independent television producer in Europe , acquires Holiday on Ice. |
Stage Holding
1999 - Joop van den Ende forms the Stage Holding Entertainment Company, which assumes responsibility for all of his own and Endemol's live entertainment products, including Holiday on Ice. |
Holiday on Ice continues to expand world-wide
2002 - Holiday on Ice brings the total number of cities it has visited to 620 in more than 80 countries on five continents.
